About Us
The Sacramento location opened its doors to business in 1992 as Sierra Detroit Diesel Allison. Sierra was a division of Penske Corporation with Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, Kohler Generators and Waukesha Engine as the primary product lines. Sacramento sits on 4.5 acres and the original building has a roof surface of 33,000 square feet.
In April 1997 Sierra DDA was sold to Stewart and Stevenson and became part of their Power Products Western Division. In August of 2005, Valley Power Systems purchased the Sierra/S&S operation and turned it into the headquarters for Valley’s Northern Division, which includes the West Sacramento, Hayward and Fresno facilities.
The West Sacramento location of Valley North services both on-highway and off-highway vehicles and equipment. The main focus of the on-highway shop is Detroit Diesel, Mercedes-Benz, and Allison Trans-mission. Sacramento is a certified shop for emergency fire vehicles and a portion of the warehouse has been converted to house fire equipment.
Sacramento is the centralized location for Valley Power Systems and is where all small engines are stored and prepped for sales. These product lines include DEUTZ, Volvo Industrial and Isuzu Industrial powering construction equipment and agricultural pumps. Sacramento is also where the centralized warranty group for all Valley locations and product lines is located.
Our Parts Department maintains a full inventory of quality Genuine parts and remanufactured components for both on-highway and off-highway applications. Our Parts Specialists are factory trained and knowledgeable on the markets and product lines they serve. We also offer 24/7 emergency support assuring our customers that we will be there when they need us.
