Reasons to add photos to your listing:

  1. Photos are an important part of your business story. And people connect to stories at an emotional level. Photos are essential in building that all important emotional trust factor necessary for people to become your paying customers. People are interested in what your business (or products) look like and photos are a great way to show people what your business is all about.
  2. Photos are very important in increasing the Search engine Optimization (SEO) of your listing. With online marketing, SEO is what makes it all work. The better the SEO, the better ranking of both your listing (and your company website), which leads to more new customers.

What do you need to do:

  1. Have a purpose and goal for each photo. Greater number of photos is not better! People will usually look at the first 4 or 5 photos and quickly lose interest. Each photo should be related to a specific service, product, or customer benefit. Select and target each photo with a specific goal.
  2. Provide the following for each photo:
    1. Service, product, or customer benefit the photo is related to. Be as specific as possible. The more focused the greater the SEO value.
    2. Description for each photo. Should be one to two sentences long. Include how the topic of the photo benefits the CUSTOMER. Benefits need to be in terms the customer will understand AND value, e.g. saves them money, looks better, safer, etc. No jargon or technical terms general public would not understand.

Photo How To

  • send each photo as a single email attachment.
  • send only ONE photo per email.
  • send them FULL SIZE or maximum resolution. Most email programs will shrink photos when sent as an attachment. You must select that they are sent as ORIGINAL SIZE.
  • Send as JPG or JPEG file format.
  • DO NOT send RAW file format files.
  • Include photo description and target keywords in the email with photo. Descriptions sent separately all to often get mixed up and placed on wrong photo...
